CHAD WINGARD should return against Richmond in the Power’s final NAB Challenge game on March 10.

And marquee recruit Charlie Dixon is shaping to be ready for that final pre-season match as he progresses through rehab following meniscus surgery.

Wingard was managed against the Demons on Saturday having aggravated his hamstring leading up to the match.

However he trained over the weekend and Port Adelaide’s head of high performance Darren Burgess expects him to pass a fitness test before the Tigers game.

“We didn’t want to put Chad through a [NAB] game with a bit of hamstring soreness but he would have played if it was a regular match,” Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au.

“We’re also happy with how Charlie has been going [through rehab] so we’re hopeful he’ll be good for ‘NAB 3.’”

Tom Clurey will spend around six weeks out in recovery for a foot injury.

"Clurey has had some ongoing issues," Burgess said.

"We have decided that now would be the best time for him to have some time off so he can be ready as close to the start of the season as possible."

No injures were reported from Port Adelaide’s win over the Adelaide Crows on Saturday morning in an SANFL trial.
