TRAVIS BOAK may have dropped seven places in the AFL Players' Top 50, but he remains one of the competitions premier players.

Considering Boak battled through multiple taggers and a reduced output overall in 2015, that his peers consider him as good as 16th is a genuine tip of the cap to his leadership and playing ability.

Boak finished fourth in the Power's John Cahill Medal last year - his lowest ranking since 2012 - but was still able to turn the game with his hard work around stoppages.

Travis Boak is also ranekd in the top 20 - at position 17 - in the AFL's official player ratings.
