WELCOME to the last Inside Alberton before the return of footy!

There’s been plenty happening around the club and we’ve gathered it all in one bumper-sized edition to tie you over until Sunday’s footy fix.

Speed demons
Some of the boys went to check out the Clipsal 500 last weekend - Robbie, Boaky and Charlie were pretty stoked to experience a hot lap with the Red Bull and Hot Wheels teams!

Crazy experience doing a hot lap with these guys today! Thanks Red Bull

Punk’d
Chad Wingard recently hatched a plan to cheer up teammate Billy Frampton while he’s in rehab with a foot injury…

It went swimmingly.

Chad gets trolled by an 8 year old
You might have seen this on our Facebook page just before our NAB Richmond clash, but it’s too good not to re-share. It’s not very often Chad Wingard gets shown up by a fan – but when he does, he takes it with a smile on his face!

Nice guy Chad Wingard gets trolled by an 8-year-old

Jacko trolls Chad
Going with the trolling-Chad theme, Jacko poked fun at Wings with this snap of a recent Power liftout in the Advertiser.

It’s true - you can’t get six points with a handball… #banter

First time we have seen Chad Wingard handball #canplay

Family man
It’s no secret Chad’s first two loves are his family and basketball – it’s good to see he’s making time for both while visiting home in Murray Bridge!

Slam dunk fail
…looks like Jacko could do with some practice though.

Man’s best friend
We love a new addition to the Port Adelaide Family – especially one this cute. Meet Jimmy Toumpas’ new best friend, Benji, the chocolate lab. Stay tuned for a #petsofportadelaide feature.

Welcoming this little gangster into my life! Everyone, meet Benji!

Roger Boak Chair Appeal
Meanwhile the skipper has launched a campaign of his own, for a cause very close to his heart. He and his family have announced they’re raising $10,000 to help purchase a new chemotherapy treatment chair named in honour of his late father, Roger, in the Geelong region.

Nearly 11 years ago this incredible man, husband, father and friend lost a two year battle with cancer. There are very few people in this world that have the ability to touch the hearts of every person they meet, but somehow my dad found a way, he was a man full of love, respect, compassion and an undeniable strength. Dads passing was devastating to our family and is something that we would never want anyone else to have to experience. There is an overwhelming 2400 people diagnosed with cancer in the Geelong region each year so my family and I are working to help raise 10,000 to purchase a new chemotherapy treatment chair named in honor of our dad that will help fill the chemotherapy day ward of the Andrew love cancer centre. It would be amazing if you could help support us and the Andrew love centre and all those that spend many hours there. Donations can be made to the Roger Boak chair appeal at Boak chair appeal BSB 633-000 AC NO: 157016049 #projectlove #chairforboaky thank you ❤️

Port or Crows corner?
You know that sign on the corner of Port Road and Cheltenham Parade – the one celebrating a certain cross-town rival's two premierships? Well, a loyal Port fan decided it was time for a renovation…

School’s in
Westy recently shared this cute snap of his son, Bodhi, on his first day of school. He’s the first of the Westhoff offspring to go to school, ahead of little sisters Tully and Piper.

School is cool....Very proud mum & dad today. @becwesthoff86

Home sweet home
On their last weekend off before the season officially begins, many of the boys chose to head home– including Ollie, who went back to Echuca in Victoria to spend time with friends and family.

Love being home!

And finally, Port Adelaide’s new recruit Aidyn Johnson has finally got his licence – sounds like teammate Dan Houston was sick of playing taxi! Congrats AJ.
