SAM GRAY and Dougal Howard have been omitted from Port Adelaide's line-up for Round 7, replaced by Jackson Trengove and Chad Wingard.

It will be Wingard's first game since suffering a delayed concussion against Geelong - he missed last weekend's win over Richmond - while Trengove returns from a suspension for striking.

The Power is looking to continue winning form off the back of last Saturday's victory at the MCG.

Trengove will play as a primary, albeit makeshift ruckman after the loss of Matthew Lobbe to a knee injury this week.

Wingard slots into the Power's forward pocket.

While Howard has been taken out the Power's line-up, Ken Hinkley says he should play AFL again in 2016.

"I love what he [Howard] brings as a young player, but understand where he's at: I'm really cautious of what we're asking him to do," Hinkley said on Friday.

"He'll say, 'I can do it every week... let me have a go,' my responsibility is to build his career and help him have a long-term career.

"He'll play more games this year, there's no doubt about that."
