THE SIX POINTS

1. Port Adelaide and Woodville West Torrens have played 69 times since the Eagles formed in 1991. The win loss ratio couldn't be closer, with Port narrowly ahead 35-34.

2. The Eagles have won three games on the trot and are sitting fourth on the ladder with four wins. Last week's game saw the Eagles play a tight contest against Glenelg, but they were able to turn it on in the last quarter to kick six goals-to-two.

3. The injury curse continues for the Magpies as a number of key players face fitness tests. Robbie Young and Sam Colquhoun suffered concussions against the Bloods, while skipper Steven Summerton was had a hamstring injury last week. Meanwhile ruckman Billy Frampton is likely to spend some time on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

4. Kane Mitchell continues to bring his own footy to the ground, once again taking best on ground honours with 32 disposals, four rebound 50’s, four inside 50’s and a goal.

5. Dougal Howard and Jesse Palmer formed a dynamic duo, playing as tall targets up forward and rotating through the ruck. With a lot of experience missing for the Magpies, Chad Cornes praised them saying "age doesn’t always matter, but attitude and willingness to work for teammates does."

6. A big focus this week will be on goal kicking, the Magpies coming off the last game with 16 behinds from 30 scoring shots.

FINAL WORD

Despite only recording their second win last week, Port Adelaide jumped from ninth to sixth on the ladder and are within reaching distance of the top teams.
