THIS time last year, the Power headed north to face the Demons, securing a 61-point win in celebration of Angus Monfries’s 200th game.

The Power returned to TIO Traeger Park Oval in Alice Springs and used the second quarter to surge to a comfortable win in front of 4,866 fans.

There were goals aplenty from Jay Schulz (4), Angus Monfries (3), Justin Westhoff (2) and Chad Wingard (2), whilst Amon, Robbie Gray, Paul Stewart, Matt White, Nathan Krakouer, Brad Ebert and Hamish Hartlett scored one goal each.

Nathan Krakouer came on as substitute for Amon in the final term.

Hinkley attributed the team’s ability to control Melbourne to the Power’s defence, with Ebert and Boak leading in clearances.

The Power and the Eagles have met 29 times with the Power holding an 18:11 winning advantage.

The largest combined score wins for the Power saw them defeat the Demons 163-74 in Round 17, 2007 and again in Round 3, 2009 (147-90) at Football Park.

This 2007 clash was also the Power's biggest win against the Demons, with the Power coming away with the 89-point win (163-74).

The largest crowd attendance for a Power-Demons clash occurred when 37,894 fans poured into Adelaide Oval during Round 18, 2014 to witness a nail biting 3-point win in Dom Cassisi's farewell game.

As it stands, Brad Ebert holds 5th position in the league for most tackles, clocking up a total of 59 this season.

On Saturday afternoon, Ebert will take on one of the top tacklers in the league - Demon Jack Viney currently holds 2nd position on the AFL tackle board, with 66.

Kane Cornes reached 15 tackles during a 2010 clash against West Coast Eagles, the most tackles in a Port Adelaide game.

Last week, West Coast’s pressure inside 50 saw the Power battle for opportunity to get in front and based on last time the Power met the Demons in Alice Springs and Melbourne's current form, Port Adelaide must pull out all stops to hit the scoreboard to secure their fifth win of the 2016 season.

Port Adelaide plays Melbournea at TIO Traeger Park Oval at 1.40pm on Saturday 28 May 2016.
