AS IT HAPPENED
First quarter
The ball movement was slick from both teams in perfect conditions, but at times the final product was lacking going inside 50.

Jarman Impey finished off some sharp work out of the centre square, with Chad Wingard delivering a pinpoint handball going inside 50 as the pacey Impey streaked forward.

Max Gawns was dominant in the centre square as expected, but the Power did well keeping clearances relatively even, with Jackson Trengove having a good influence at ground level.

It was a fiery first end to the first quarter, with Jack Viney and Brad Ebert going toe-to-toe inside the Power's forward 50. Ebert missed the ensuing shot at goal, but the battle continued after the quarter time siren with some push and shove.

Second quarter
Charlie Dixon imposed himself in the second quarter, taking a few big marks and crashing contests when he wasn't able to take the grab. He finished his good work off with four first half goals.

Chad Wingard was everywhere and was influential in a number of score involvements, but was uncharacteristically wasteful in front of goal - 1.3 in the first half.

The Power's ball movement in the first half was as good as it's been in 2016 - with the visitors also able to hold the ball in their forward half for extended periods.

Third quarter
Port Adelaide dominated the first 10 minutes of the third quarter, with the defensive pressure inside the Power's forward half immense and making it hard for the Demons to get forward at all.

Dougal Howard and Robbie Gray capitalised on that pressure, kicking the first two goals of the quarter before Jack Watts answered for the Demons.

Despite the Power having the greater share of inside 50s in the third quarter, the two teams traded goals as the margin hovered around the 20-point mark.

The Demons made Howard pay for a bad miss running into an open goal, running down the other end, with Max Gawn kicking the goal.

Fourth quarter
The Power continued to find space in the final quarter and broke the game open with the first four goals of the last stanza.

In Sir Doug Nicholls Indigenous Round, it was fitting that Wingard, Impey, Krakouer and Neade all kicked goals to put the Demons out of reach.

Charlie Dixon finished the game off with his 5th goal - the second time he's bagged 5 goals in May.
