JACK HOMBCSH will play against Richmond after being declared fit to front the Tigers on Friday night at the Adelaide Oval.

His inclusion into the Power’s line-up could be one of two valuable boosts for the side with Jay Schulz a chance for a recall after his return via the SANFL two weekends ago.

The news for the Power’s stock should improve in the next three weeks too, with Port hopeful of returning Matt White, Matthew Lobbe and Will Snelling to football duties.

“Homma was a narrow chance to play Freo, but the bye week just gave us another chance to get him right,” Port Adelaide head of high performance Darren Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au.

“We’re really hopeful of getting Whitey, Lobbes and Snelling back for the North Melbourne weekend.”

Out for the year

DOUGAL HOWARD and Aidyn Johnson won’t play again this year, with Howard out with an ACL injury while Johnson will spend the remainder of the season recovering from a hamstring injury.

“Johnno’s will probably have surgery this week, and we’ve decided to take a really careful approach with him, so he won’t play again this year,” Burgess said.

“It’s disappointing for him, but we need to make sure we look after him as a young player.

“With ‘Doogs,’ we know ACL injuries generally take about 12 months, but we’ll have a clearer picture of where he’s at further down the track.”
