LIKE most athletes, AFL players are creatures of habit.

Along with regimented training schedules and personalised nutrition plans, many players have their own pre-game rituals which help them feel consistent and focussed on game day.

Plenty of the boys listen to their own music pre-game - but big man Charlie Dixon must listen one particular song at the same time each week before hitting the field.

The song is Way down we go by Kaleo, which Dixon plays inbetween the second warmup and running out on-field.

“It helps me get in the right mind frame for the game,” he told portadelaidefc.com.au.

Dixon says he’s always listened to certain songs before games, but changed the ritual to this particular track since joining the Power in 2016.
