BRENDON AH CHEE will be in the mix for Port selection if captain Travis Boak is ruled out of Saturday's game against the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba.

Boak had scans on Monday morning for a hamstring injury sustained in the Power's 90-point thumping of Carlton at Adelaide Oval last Friday night.

Boak left the game in the third quarter and was put on ice for the rest of the game.

Ah Chee, 23, played 11 of his 22 career games last season, but has been overlooked for the opening five rounds this year.

His impressive form in the SANFL, which included booting three goals and having 21 possessions in a 63-point win against Norwood last Saturday, has put him in contention.

"Brendon Ah Chee has been the guy over the last three weeks who has been in the most consistent form and really played at a high level," Power assistant coach Michael Voss said.

"He's as close to a like-for-like replacement with Boak and where he plays.

"He will come under strong consideration."

The Power are also sweating on the fitness of half-back flanker Hamish Hartlett, who missed the win against the Blues with a quad injury.

"We think Hamish will be OK," Voss said.

"He had a little bit of soreness or awareness high up in the quad.

"It is an area where you have to be really conservative."

Key defender Jack Hombsch will have a fitness test this week to see if he is available after missing the past three games with a hamstring injury.

Port Adelaide plays the Lions at the Gabba at 4.35pm AEST on Saturday 29 April.
