PORT Adelaide broke ground with the first game for premiership points outside of Australia or New Zealand and will be making more history on Mars – Stadium, that is – to face the Western Bulldogs in Ballarat on Saturday.
As well as their round eight game against Gold Coast in Shanghai, the Power have played in Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Perth and Geelong this season, along with three trips to Melbourne.
"We've certainly travelled the globe, from China to Ballarat," Power assistant coach Aaron Greaves said.
"It just presents another challenge.
"We've got a few players on our list that have played a bit of footy there and a couple players that come from north Ballarat.
"It should have a real community feel about it, which should be a good place to play."
The Power will get their first look at the ground on Friday.
The game is important for both sides in the penultimate round of the competition, with the Power (12-8) sitting sixth on the ladder on 48 points and the reigning premiers in ninth on 44.
"It's that time of year where there is no margin for error," Greaves said.
"We know how tight the ladder positions are, we know what every team is playing for.
"For us, it comes down to our preparation."
The Power will regain impressive first-year midfielder Sam Powell-Pepper, who was rested for last Sunday's 27-point win over Collingwood at Adelaide Oval.
However, defender Matthew Broadbent is expected to return through the SANFL if he passes a fitness test on his injured ankle this week.
Broadbent has missed five of the past seven games with bone bruising.
"He's at a position where he needs to play with the (Port Adelaide) Magpies and get that in first, so we'll assess that and see how he goes during the week," Greaves said.
