WHAT do you get when a star of Australian screen meets a legend of Australian football?

Fortunately, Geoffrey Rush, winner of the 1996 Academy Award for Best Actor in Shine and start of such films as the Pirates of the Caribbean and The King's Speech and two-time AFL premiership player Gavin Wanganeen have the answer.

The pair crossed paths this week with Rush in Adelaide for the shoot of the Storm Boy remake, where Wanganeen's cousin is involved on set with the production.

Wanganeen made sure to bring a Power guernsey (we assume he has a Superman-style wardrobe choc-full of them) and a texta along to the set.

Rush made sure to scribble a message of good luck to the 22 Power players who will take the field against West Coast on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval.

His advice is to use Pirate tactics.
