WITH CREEPY clown fever gripping cinemas with the release of the new remake of Stephen King’s ‘It’, we’ve also got a fresh theory on why Robbie Gray is the freakish player he is.

For those unfamiliar with the story, the iconic evil clown of the novel and film is the Earth form of an evil superbeing from another universe.

Oldies probably remember him to look like this from an early '90s TV series...

So what on earth does this have to do with Port Adelaide?

In King's novel, the creature went by a couple of names.

The one everyone knows is ‘Pennywise’.

The other is Robert Gray.

Robert. Gray.

Okay, so we’re not suggesting Robbie is evil, or lives in a sewer in his spare time, but when you look at some of the strange magic he’s capable of performing on the field:

It does make you wonder whether he's from another planet, or a different footy galaxy altogether…

 

And the only place in the universe where Robbie is actually the manifestation of evil? Probably St Kilda...
