RIO OLYMPIC Gold Medallist Kyle Chalmers is leading the SANFL Grand Final charge for Port Adelaide.

Already a Port Adelaide ambassador, Kyle will also be leading Port's fan charge as the club's Grand Final Ambassador for Sunday's clash against Sturt at Adelaide Oval.

Chalmers, 19, is the freestyle champion who spurred Australia to gold in Rio.

He is the son of Port Adelaide premiership hero and 1998 Jack Oatey Medallist Brett Chalmers.

Brett won his Jack Oatey Medal against Sturt 20 years ago, and as fate would have it, Port Adelaide will front the Double Blues for a chance at its 37th SANFL pennant.

Kyle was just over three months old when his dad took out that premiership prize.

The Magpies take on the Double Blues on Sunday 24 September at Adelaide Oval, the first bounce will take place at 2.40pm
