HAWTHORN’S Tom Mitchell has some new challengers at the top of the AFL Fantasy standings with Adelaide’s Rory Laird and Bryce Gibbs and GWS midfielder Stephen Coniglio all within 30 points of him on the overall standings.

Mitchell scored just 83 points in the Hawks big win over Melbourne, by far his lowest of the season.

The 24-year-old had 24 touches, five tackles and four free kicks for and while his scoring was down, he is still averaging 131 points per round.

His value has surprisingly dropped by $20,000, but he still carries the league’s highest price tag of $921,000.

At Port Adelaide, wingman Jared Polec remains the club’s highest overall scorer but Robbie Gray is the big mover after the loss to Essendon.

Jared Polec (mid - $645,000)

Polec added $20,000 to his value after scoring 92 points against the Bombers.

His average points per round are now 101.8, on the back of his 28 possession game on Sunday.

Polec has now seen an overall rise of $62,000 since the start of the season, bettered only by Dom Barry, Westhoff, Robbie Gray and Riley Bonner out of the Power line-up.

Polec is still only in 850 Fantasy teams so far, but that is nearly double the selections from last week.

Robbie Gray (fwd - $636,000)

Put simply, Gray was a standout performer against Essendon with 39 disposals, five marks and four tackles.

He tallied 117 points, above his 108.3 point average in 2018 – keeping in mind he has only played three games this season.

Gray’s value has risen $64,000 so far this year and $28,000 this week alone.

The 30-year-old represents good value as well, costing coaches $5872 per point scored – second cheapest for the Power, only behind Dom Barry.

He is pretty popular with Fantasy coaches too, having been picked by 12187 of them.

Tom Jonas (def $496,000)

Defenders don’t necessarily rack up a lot of points but Jonas’s performance against the Bombers saw him grab an impressive 90.

He had 12 kicks and five handballs, to go with his nine marks and four tackles.

The performance saw his value rise by $22,000, taking his overall increase to $69,000 in 2018.

Jonas has only been selected in 605 teams but his average of 81.5 points is very useful for a defender and given his performances so far in 2018, it’s likely he’ll be more popular with AFL Fantasy coaches in coming weeks.
