JARED POLEC has been nominated for the Round 13 Coates Hire ‘Goal of the Year’ for his majestic kick from the boundary in Port Adelaide’s clash with the Western Bulldogs on Thursday night.

Polec received a handball from Travis Boak just outside the 50-metre arc, ran to 40m on the boundary and slotted a drop punt to give Port a four-goal lead in the third quarter.

The former Lion kicked a very similar goal in the first quarter, but it was his effort in the second half that really got the fans out of their seats.

If successful in this week’s voting, the electrifying midfielder could join Sam Powell-Pepper and Steven Motlop in the running for the goal of the year.

Votes for Jared Polec below.
