PORT ADELAIDE midfielder Steven Motlop has accepted a $1000 sanction arising out of Saturday’s win over North Melbourne.

Motlop was charged with making careless contact with umpire Leigh Fisher during the first quarter of the Round Six match at Etihad Stadium.

Making careless contact with an umpire is a fixed financial sanction of $1500 but the 27-year-old was able to accept a lesser fine by entering an early guilty plea.

It means Motlop is free to face West Coast in Perth on Saturday afternoon along with defender Darcy Byrne-Jones who had his match day report for striking North Melbourne’s Jack Ziebell overturned.

The AFL Match Review Officer was of the view that the force used in the high contact was below that required for a charge to be laid.

Two other charges came from the Kangaroos game, with Roos tough nut Ben Cunnington also accepting a $1000 fine for making contact with an umpire, while ruckman Todd Goldstein accepted a $1500 fine for misconduct against Power midfielder Ollie Wines.

Port Adelaide’s opponents this week, West Coast, had two players fined as well with Luke Shuey handing over $2000 after he was found to have kneed Fremantle tagger Bailey Banfield, and Chris Masten giving up $1500 for misconduct on Docker Ed Langdon.

The AFL Tribunal won’t sit tonight after all other players accepted their sanctions.

That includes Essendon ruckman Matthew Leuenberger who has accepted his one-game ban for striking Melbourne big man Max Gawn in the final quarter of Sunday's clash at Etihad Stadium.

Brisbane will be without Nick Robertson against Collingwood on Sunday after he accepted a one-match suspension for striking Giants forward Harrison Himmelberg in the third quarter of Saturday's contest.
