HAWTHORN’s Tom Mitchell has extended his lead at the top of the AFL fantasy leaderboard after a remarkable 50-touch effort in his side’s loss to GWS on Saturday.

Mitchell scored a remarkable 195 AFL fantasy points, the highest of his career.

It was the third time he has racked up 50 or more touches in a game while no other player has done it more than once.

The Brownlow Medal fancy started with 14 first-quarter disposals and finished with 50 for the night, as well as 12 tackles, nine clearances and seven inside 50s.

His 195 points was significantly above his season average of 125.6 and it saw his value increase by a whopping $29,000 to $841,000.

That means he has returned to the mantle as the most expensive player in the competition.

The evergreen Justin Westhoff and forward-midfielder Chad Wingard were the only Port Adelaide players to score 100 points or more in the win over Carlton.

Westhoff’s 113 AFL fantasy points has him extending his overall lead in the Power ranks and sees him move up to the league’s 13th highest scorer overall.

Justin Westhoff (mid/fwd - $670,000)

Westhoff gained another $8,000 in value after again exceeding his 101.9-point season average.

He remains the only Port Adelaide player averaging 100 points or more in 2018 and has risen 10 spots in the league’s rankings to reach 13th overall.

Westhoff was a solid contributor in a more advanced role, finishing with 19 disposals, six marks, and seven hit-outs.

The Power veteran also polled well for his four tackles and two goals.

He has become just the fourth Port Adelaide player behind Dom Barry, Robbie Gray, and Tom Rockliff to crack 30,000 team selections with AFL fantasy coaches clearly realising his value.

Chad Wingard (mid/fwd - $567,000)

Averaging a handy 105 points in his last four games, Wingard wasn’t far off with his 102 against the Blues.

Playing more on the ball he had 24 touches and six tackles and booted two goals – one a dribbling ripper from the pocket.

After a slow start to the season, Wingard’s overall value has dropped by $82,000 since the start of the year, but he recouped $27,000 with his performance against Carlton.

Wingard’s ability to play on the ball or up forward has resonated recently with AFL fantasy coaches with more than 15,000 including him in their squads, and that number could rise given his form line.

Sam Powell-Pepper (mid - $549,000)

Another game, another increase in value for the hard-nosed 20-year-old.

After setting a club-record 17 tackles last week, Powell-Pepper could only manage six against Carlton, although that, combined with 22 disposals and two marks was enough for him to score 84 AFL fantasy points.

It’s the fifth time in seven games he has exceeded his season points average and that saw his value rise by another $4,000.

Tom Rockliff (mid - $586,000)

In his last seven games, Rockliff has averaged 95.4 AFL fantasy points, and he scored another 95 against the Blues.

Still, an overall average of 79.1 for the year has seen his value drop by a whopping $139,000.

Showing signs that he is finding his feet in his new set-up at Alberton, Rockliff had a team-high 29 touches to go with four marks and three tackles.

AFL fantasy coaches still value him with 35,845 including him in their squads.
