PORT ADELAIDE defender Dougal Howard and West Coast Ruckman Nic Naitanui have accepted sanctions arising from Port Adelaide’s 42-point loss to West Coast at Optus Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Howard was charged with engaging in rough conduct against Josh Kennedy during the second quarter of the Round Seven match on Saturday May 5, 2018.

Based on the available video evidence and a medical report from the West Coast Football Club, the incident was assessed as careless conduct with low impact to the body.

The incident was assessed as a $3000 sanction but he was able to accept a $2000 sanction with an early plea.

Naitanui, West Coast entered an early plea to attempting to trip Jasper Pittard during the third quarter of the match.

Attempting to trip is a fixed financial sanction of $1500 but his early plea entitled Naitanui to accept a $1000 sanction.

The big Fijian will however face the tribunal over his controversial tackle on Karl Amon during the last quarter.

Naitanui was charged with engaging in rough conduct after his tackle drove Amon forward into the Optus Stadium turf.

Based on the available video evidence and a medical report from the Port Adelaide Football Club, the incident was assessed as careless conduct with medium impact to the head.

The incident was assessed as a one-match sanction but Naitanui has elected to challenge the sanction.

The tribunal will also hear Geelong forward Tom Hawkins' case after he was referred directly there for touching an umpire.
