A JOINT BANNER to commemorate the late Phil Walsh will be prepared by both the Port Adelaide and Crows cheer squads for Sunday's Showdown 39.

The two supporter groups met on Monday night to plan the commemoration, which will see the Power and Crows playing groups run through a large banner together.

The Crows will run out from their race first and complete a warm-up lap to their club song, with the Power to follow suit a minute later.

Travis Boak and Taylor Walker will then shake hands in front of the banner - positioned halfway between both club's races - before the two teams run through together.

It will be a similar procedure to the one in place when the Power and Hawks ran through a shared banner for ANZAC Day.

Walsh is a life member and 10-year assistant coach at Port Adelaide, and was senior coach of the Crows in 2015.

While the Showdown is a Power home game, Port has offered to share commemorative opportunities with its cross town rival, other initiatives will be confirmed later in the week.

Power welcomes all on the March from the Mall

Port Adelaide's traditional March from the Mall has also been finalised, with the Power faithful to depart the Rundle Mall/Gawler Place canopy at 1:30pm.

The Power's membership manager Ben Demertzis says it will be business as usual for the supporter base on Sunday, but other fans will be welcome to join the March.

"We encourage everyone to join the March from the Mall, we get great support at every March and we expect this one to be huge," Demertzis says.

"It doesn't matter who you support - Port Adelaide, the Crows, another team - it will be great to see as many people join us on this very special march."

Rundle Mall will also run a 'South Australian' celebration from 11:00am at the Gawler Place canopy, with free entertainment, footy face painting, poster craft stations and giveaways from Robern Menz.
