THE SIX POINTS

1. Skipper Steven Summerton didn't get a week off, named as the state team's vice-captain and was amongst the best in SA’s win with 29 disposals.

2. It’s battle of the Cornes brothers - this time from the coaches box, with Kane now over at Glenelg after taking up a coaching and mentoring role with the Bays this year.

3. The Magpies' last game was a dominant 48-point win ove South Adelaide in Round 9. Kane Mitchell, Sam Gray and Jimmy Toumpas were once again influential through the midfield, with Luke Reynolds, John Butcher and Brendon Ah Chee combining for 11 goals.

4. For Glenelg, their last game was in Round 8 and will be coming to Alberton fresh from a two-week break, and confidence high with a 29 point win over Centrals.

5. The week off came at a good time for a few boys overcoming injuries. Billy Frampton will return from an ankle injury, while first year players Cam Hewett (finger) and Aidyn Johnson (hamstring) will be assessed at training.

6. Recent games have gone Port Adelaide’s way, taking a 4-1 lead in the last five games. Over 246 games played Magpies take a 176-67 lead, with three draws.

FINAL WORD

It took eight games but all the little things Chad Cornes had been talking about finally came together against South Adelaide. The challenge is maintaining this form and proving we can play consistent footy.
