THE POWER have finished 2016 with a top-four home crowd attendance for the third consecutive season.

Despite a below-average season for the club, an average of 39,665 supporters filed into Adelaide Oval.

The figures are down 7.9 per cent from an average of 42,929 last year and 11.1 per cent (44,364) from 2014.

That 11-game average is drawn from the 436,310 fans who swiped their tickets at the Adelaide Oval gates to see the Power in action this year.

The biggest crowd attendance for a Port home game reached 53,518 for the Round 16 Showdown last year.

The Power's attendance away from home - which included usually low-drawing fixtures in Queensland, Alice Springs and Canberra - was third-lowest among the AFL clubs.

As a result, Port's home-and-away attendance was rated 11th overall - ahead of other non-Victorian clubs Fremantle, Brisbane, GWS and Gold Coast.

Port Adelaide's most attended games were both Showdowns - with the away derby drawing 51,585 for Showdown 40, while the Power's home Showdown saw 49,541 turn through the gates.
