BRENDON Ah Chee wasn’t surprised his younger brother Callum had taken another screamer playing for the AFL Academy side when he saw the footage on the weekend.

But he was impressed with it.

“It’s the best I’ve seen him take,” says Brendon of his 17-year-old brother Callum.

“He’d definitely have a handy top 10 grabs video.”

Brendon says it hasn’t always come naturally to Callum, “but when he was 15 he just developed this leap”.

“He wasn’t really that athletic when he was younger. We’d all be able to jump and touch the ceiling at home, but he couldn’t reach it.

“It’s only been in the past couple of years that he’s been taking hangers.

Callum is in his draft year and has been added to the NAB AFL Academy side for a series of games in 2015, including Saturday’s against the Northern Blues at the MCG.

Brendon, one of six Ah Chee brothers, is in regular contact with Callum about his football.

“He’s in his draft year so I speak to him a fair bit, probably once a week.

“He’s excited about his footy this year, but he’s certainly not getting ahead of himself.”

Brendon has had a solid start to his 2015, winning the Round 2 Peter Jackson SANFL Player of the Week.
