Fantasy Focus: NAB Challenge Game 3

WE didn’t have a great day against the Tigers, but we did notice a few things from a Fantasy perspective. So here are a few things I observed.

Jared Polec had a great first game for the pre-season with 26 touches and 10 marks for 105 Fantasy points.

Matthew Broadbent staked a claim for a position in the backline of our Fantasy. He is $423,000 which is a bit of an awkward price. He scored 88 points last week but only averaged 74 last season. Just beware as he was left alone across half back and the ball was down there quite a bit, which hopefully won’t be the case during the regular season.

Karl Amon put in a second great game in a row. 77 points from 18 touches and three tackles was great. He is certainly staking a claim for a spot in the best 22. He has kept his spot in the 27 this week so I will be keen to see how he goes.

Nathan Krakouer had 35 points which was a little less than we had hoped for in that game and he has been dropped for NAB week three, which is a concern for those that were looking to pick him.

Things to keep an eye on for our game against Adelaide this week:

What will Ollie Wines’ role be with a full midfield? Has it changed from last year? We are hoping he breaks out and to do this we are looking for increased kicks and tackles.

If Adelaide tag, who will it be? One of the concerns will be if Robbie Gray gets more attention than he did last year. I expect the tag will continue to go to Travis Boak and if that is the case, then Gray should be able to run free and rack up the points. If he has another game like last time then he should be a lock for your side.

How much attention will Brad Ebert get? As I wrote a few weeks ago he is super consistent and doesn’t get a huge amount of attention, so if he can score around 100 points this week it will convince me he is set for another season like last year.

Overall keep an eye on the team structure, but remember that we are still without first choice players Hartlett, Monfries and Ryder .

I will be back with a review of our third NAB game and a final preview for the season ahead next week.
