THE Sunday Mail's AFL writers have picked their best 22 for the Power for 2014.

With just 70 days until we launch our 2014 campaign against Carlton at Etihad Stadium, the attention has turned to how our line-up might look for Round 1.

Port Adelaide has the third youngest list in the AFL and that is evidenced by the fact just nine players in the Sunday Mail's Best 22 has played 100 games or more.

The side also includes two new players in Matt White (from Richmond) and Jared Polec (from Brisbane).

Perhaps the most noteable point from the Sunday Mail's team, is not who's in the team, but who hasn't made the cut.

The quality on the list of those who miss out is very impressive. The likes of Paul Stewart, Jack Hombsch, Kane Mitchell, Campbell Heath, John Butcher and Tom Logan - just to name a few - have all missed out on a spot in the Best 22.
