LIFELONG Port Adelaide supporter Craig McKay continues his weekly player reviews for portadelaidefc.com.au.

McKay was at Adelaide Oval for the clash with Sydney and gives us his top five.

Macca’s Top Five
Jack Hombsch
The real star of the night in my opinion. I've loved his year and think he's been one of our best players over the second half of the season, but I did think it was an odd choice having him on Franklin at the start of the game. But wow what a game he played. I thought he'd get well beaten for pace but he was regularly either beating Franklin to the ball or shutting down his leads. The only way Franklin could score was by shoving him out of contests. His best game of the year and my best on ground last week.

Robbie Gray
After a downer last week he came back to form in empathic fashion, playing arguably the best game of his season through the midfield. Was just unable to be tackled all night, was fed first use of the ball by Lobbe and was able to dish it out to the outside mids well. Kicking was a bit down from normal and he needed to slot that goal in the third, but outside of that you can’t really fault his game. There is no way he will miss out on AA this year with this form.

Travis Boak
Thought he started slowly through the midfield, wasn’t able to find any space to work his magic but when he moved to more of a flanker role he took the second half by storm. A true captain’s performance in getting us right back in the contest in the third quarter when it looked like getting away from us. Gave us every chance to win with some clutch goal kicking. One of our best on the night for sure.

Matt Lobbe
He did a fine job in the ruck last night. Fed our mids all night. Wasnt able to get involved around the ground, though it was great to see him kick a goal from something other than a free kick. His hitout to advantage stat was probably the biggest it’s ever been. Great effort from Lobbs.

Tom Jonas
After getting beaten by Goodes earlier in the year I thought TJ came out and returned the favour last night. Didn't allow Goodes any space to work up forward and thought TJ provided plenty offensively as well. Probably his best game for the second half of the year.
