PORT Adelaide's 2015 membership tally has surged north after the completion of Easy Pay automatic renewals on Wednesday.

The club now has 40,120 members for next season, including stadium members and stadium members with a club upgrade.

It is a remarkable growth in the club's membership tally on the same point in the previous two seasons.

Even with the highly-anticipated move to the Adelaide Oval for 2014, the club's membership tally was at just 33,838 for the same point last year.

The tally was at just 14,684 on the same day in 2012 and took another five months - until May 2013 - to crack 40,000 members.

General manager of marketing and consumer business Matthew Richardson told portadelaidefc.com.au the extension of the club's member renewal deadline will assist in further boosting the club's overall membership renewal rate.

Following the Easy Pay automatic renewals being processed, 3 in 4 of last season's members have committed to Port Adelaide for 2015.

"Our renewal rates are already at 75 per cent of last year's membership, and with our renewal deadline extended until 14 January due to difficulties in contacting the club via our 1300 GO PAFC hotline, we expect this to improve further," Richardson said.

While the renewal deadline has been extended, Richardson expects most Wait List members will be offered a reserved seat or Western Stand upgrade for 2015.

"We've had over 4000 new members join the club and currently 2000 on the reserved and western stand Wait Lists.

"We expect to be in a position to offer reserved seats to the vast majority of Wait List members by the time offers go out.

"The only way to be in with a chance at acquiring a reserved or Western Stand seat at present, is to be on the Wait List.

"Even in the event a person on the Wait List misses out, they'll still retain an 11-game general admission access membership and will move closer to the front cue for 2016.

"They will also receive priority access to upgrade into daily reserved seats prior to the general public."
