PORT ADELAIDE has eclipsed, with ease, its all-time record crowd figure for a single season of football.

The 50,087 attendance at the Adelaide Oval last Saturday helped the club smash through the 394,115 figure that has stood since its inaugural AFL season in 1997.

435,501 have seen the Power play in its 10 home games so far this year – that number will increase again when Port Adelaide plays in a Friday night blockbuster against traditionally high-drawing Carlton on Friday 22 August at 7:10pm.

Adding another string to the Power’s crowd bow this year is its ranking at fourth on average crowd attendance behind traditionally top grossing clubs Collingwood, Adelaide and Essendon.

It remains clear of other well-supported clubs including Richmond, Carlton, Fremantle, Geelong and West Coast.
