Macca’s Top 5
Hamish Hartlett
Hammer in great form is an absolute pleasure to watch. A few of us said at half time that we needed to see more from Hammer in the second half and he certainly went bang in that 3rd quarter. Really gave us a chance of winning. When he is in that form he is near on unstoppable. Improving that consistency and raising his floor to a higher level will see him one of the best mids in the game.

Matthew Broadbent
Best game he has played for a couple of months I thought and was our best player on the night. Thought he controlled that half back line really well, was always trying to create and seemed to want to play through the corridor more than others. My only query was he needed to be dropping back a bit deeper in the defensive 50 to help out Carlile a bit. Still, it’s great to see Broady playing top line footy again.

Cam O’Shea
Like Broady I thought he was great across the half back line. His ability to read the play and chop out with those saving marks is excellent and I thought his ball use was great coming forward. Wasn’t a whole lot more that he could do out there and he's arguably our form player over the last month since coming back into the team.

Jack Hombsch
Played on Reid beat him convincingly. Not just killed him defensively but I thought he provided some really clever run from the back half and always looked to create. Has turned into a superb footballer this year and the sky really is the limit for Jack. Could be anything!

Travis Boak
Was left up to him too much to try and win clearances and the contested ball. I thought Caff did a good job in limiting his outside influence, but thought Boak did well inside and was just about the only mid in the first half that was consistently winning his own ball.
