THE Port Adelaide Football Club is providing its supporters with a rare opportunity to have their name featured on the “Ultimate Port Adelaide Football Club Honour Board” at Adelaide Oval alongside club legends past and present.

Every past player who has played a senior game for the Power or the Magpies will have their name featured on the wall, which will be positioned within the club’s inner sanctum – the player’s race – at the Adelaide Oval.

The nine-metre long wall will also be adorned with some of the club’s greatest images from 1870 through until today.

For $100 (inc GST), supporters will have their name featured on the Honour Board for a minimum of 10 years and will receive a personalised certificate highlighting their unique place in Port Adelaide’s history. Supporters will have an opportunity to view the Honour Board at the Adelaide Oval from late March 2014.

A corporate offer will also be made available for $1000 (inc GST) whereby a company will have its name featured on the Honour Board for a minimum of 10 years and will receive a framed certificate of authenticity. Furthermore, the club will provide an exclusive inner sanctum event in the Port Adelaide changerooms for the company including an opportunity to view the Honour Board.

Port Adelaide chief executive Keith Thomas says this is a unique opportunity for Port Adelaide supporters to be part of history as the club returns to the Adelaide Oval.

“Our return to Adelaide Oval won’t just be about a game of footy. It will be history in the making as we return to the scene of 21 SANFL premierships and a ground that we have dominated like no other. Significantly, we want our supporters to have the chance to be immersed in this history and this Ultimate Honour Board provides that rare opportunity,” Mr Thomas said.

“This wall will line the Port Adelaide race at the Adelaide Oval and will be one of the last things our players see as they run onto the field of battle. Close your eyes and picture how exciting it would be to have your name alongside some of the greatest names and images in Port Adelaide’s incredible history dating back to 1870.

“Our supporters are so important to us and they make up the very fabric of who we are as a club. That is why we want our people to share this opportunity as we enter this exciting new era at the Adelaide Oval.

“As we know the Port Adelaide Football Club is a family club that has seen generations of families support the club. Here is an opportunity to honour family members both past and present as a way of capturing your family’s generational support of our club.”

A dedicated website has been set up at pafchonourboard.com.au where supporters can take up this exceptional opportunity.

This website will also allow supporters to view the Honour Board as it will appear at the Adelaide Oval. Moreover, the site allows for supporters to search the Honour Board for their friends, family and past players and provides an opportunity for subscribers to upload their name, image and their favourite Port Adelaide moment.
