PADDY RYDER should be cleared to play against Melbourne and Port Adelaide’s high performance team will continue monitoring defender Matthew Broadbent at training this week.

Ryder was managed on the bench in the final minutes of Saturday’s 70-point thumping of North Melbourne.

He should be cleared.

Broadbent missed last weekend’s game against the Kangaroos after also being a late omission from the West Coast match.

While he is listed as ‘assess,’ he still may miss Saturday’s game against Melbourne, according to the Power’s head physiotherapist Tim McGrath.

“We’re planning to get Broady running this week,” McGrath told portadelaidefc.com.au.

“From that point we’ll be able to make a call on his return to full training, and then advise on selection from there.”

Karl Amon successfully returned from his fractured patella injury via the SANFL on Saturday afternoon.

Port Adelaide injury list as of Monday 17 July

Paddy Ryder – ankle (assess)
Matthew Broadbent – ankle (assess)
