PORT ADELAIDE has lodged paperwork with the AFL for West Coast ruckman Scott Lycett on a five-year contract.

Lycett is a restricted free agent, and under AFL rules the Eagles have the right to match any offer from Port Adelaide in order to retain him.

Lycett, 26, was part of the Eagles side which won the 2018 premiership and is a former Port Adelaide junior.

The 203cm ruckman has played 75 AFL games and kicked 45 goals since making his debut in 2011.

The Ceduna product also played six SANFL league games for Port Adelaide before being drafted by West Coast with pick 29 in the 2010 AFL National Draft.

West Coast has three days to respond to the offer.
