Midfielder Jack Watkins was selected by Port Adelaide in the 2025 Rookie Draft, earning a senior opportunity after a productive stint at state level in both the VFL and SANFL.
Moving from North Melbourne's VFL side - where he served as captain - to Alberton ahead of the 2025 season, Watkins was a standout in his first year in black-and-white, averaging 27 disposals, 4.6 marks and 4.2 clearances from 18 games. He was recognised with a SANFL team of the year nod and also took home the A.R. McLean Medal as Port Adelaide's best SANFL player at the club's Best & Fairest.
Known as a high possession player with excellent running capacity and high footy IQ, Watkins will look to earn his spot in Port Adelaide's senior side and make the most of his opportunity at the highest level.

Team and player honours
In part one of an extensive sit down interview, senior coach Josh Carr talks through his coaching philosophy, building strong connections with his players and his role as a senior coach as the club enters a new chapter.
The Port Adelaide Football Club acknowledges the land on which we train and play, are based on the traditional lands of the Kaurna people. We respect their spiritual relationship with their country. We also acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the traditional custodians of Australia and that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still as important to the living people today.
