The Port Adelaide Football Club is proud to announce Santos has extended its partnership with the club that will see its logo elevated to the club’s AFL guernsey as a co-major partner.

The new deal will add to Santos’ longstanding support of the club’s Aboriginal Power Cup, an industry leading educational program for First Nations students, and Port Adelaide’s AFLW team as major partner.

Santos’ logo will feature on the Power’s AFL guernsey for the first time this afternoon during the club’s Round 10 clash against Geelong.

Port Adelaide Football Club Chief Executive Officer, Matthew Richardson, said he was delighted that Santos extended its partnership to support the club’s AFL and AFLW teams, and Power Community Limited.

“We’re delighted that Santos have extended their partnership with Port Adelaide that will now see their logo elevated to our AFL guernsey,” Mr. Richardson said.

“Santos’ extension compliments their long-standing support as a major partner of both our AFLW team from inception, and our industry leading Santos Aboriginal Power Cup program for 17 years.

“Their investment and partnership have seen us more recently expand the Aboriginal Power Cup into remote Northern Territory communities, through a pilot program driving impressive school attendance outcomes.

“Our aligned values in working together to build better communities provides a wonderful platform for our partnership. We are very proud to have the Santos logo on our AFL and AFLW guernseys.”

Santos CEO and Managing Director Kevin Gallagher said the expansion of the partnership into the AFL team was a logical extension of the company’s partnership with Port Adelaide.

“The Santos Aboriginal Power Cup is the longest running joint education and AFL community program for Indigenous students in the Australian professional sports industry,” Mr. Gallagher said.

“The program has engaged almost 6,500 students and is aligned to the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).

“Ninety-four per cent of participants have completed the program, setting them up for Year 12 success and opportunities for further education at TAFE or university, or other training and employment pathways.

“Santos has been a proud partner of Port Adelaide since 2008, and we have seen first-hand the power of sport in motivating young people and building stronger, more resilient families and communities.

“In 2022 we extended our support to Port Adelaide’s AFLW team and I’m really looking forward to seeing the Santos logo on the men’s guernsey this afternoon.“Santos’ partnership with Port Adelaide is all about investing in the communities where we live and work.

“Harnessing the power of sport to help young people build confidence, social and leadership skills, and networks – and motivate them to complete their education and chase their dreams – is a great way to do this.”
