Port Adelaide is poised to see all players not in long-term recovery returned to football by season’s end.

Jackson Trengove (ankle) and Angus Monfries (hip flexor) will be assessed at training during the week for a likely return against Carlton on Friday night.

The duo were late withdrawals from last Saturday’s nine-point win over Gold Coast – Monfries in the second and final warm-up before the first bounce.

Hamish Hartlett will also be monitored at training during the week after rolling his ankle in the final quarter against the Suns.

The Power’s head of high performance Darren Burgess is confident the trio should be cleared to play on Friday.

“We’ll go through our usual assessment process for all three players, but we’re confident Jackson and Angus have minor problems and should come up in time for Carlton,” Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au.

“Hamish was put on crutches as a precaution after the ankle roll, but he should be OK for Friday.

“We’ll give them all the best chance to come up in time for the game.”

Campbell Heath will also be assessed for a return this week as he nears the end of his rehabilitation from LARS surgery.

“Cam’s at the end of his rehab and we’ll see how he responds during the week before making a call as to whether he comes back this week,” said Burgess.

If all four players are cleared to return this week, Port Adelaide’s AFL injury list will feature just the three players who are in long-term recovery mode following conventional knee surgeries.

John Butcher (virus), Aaron Young (foot) and Matt White (groin) all returned over the weekend.
