JACKSON Trengove will be declared fit to play if he can get through training this week.

Power head of high performance Darren Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au the key defender will be tested to see whether he can return against Carlton on Saturday.

“He should be available to play if he gets through this week’s training,” Burgess said.

“He’s been as good as ever in his rehab, has done all the right things.”

Fellow big man Paddy Ryder is still another week away and will miss this weekend’s game against the Blues, although should be fit to return against the Swans on July 2 in Sydney.

It’s the same scenario for first-year tall utility Logan Austin, who will play against the Adelaide Crows SANFL team in the state league ‘showdown’ at Alberton on 28 June.

Matt White will have scans today to determine the extent of damage sustained by his hamstring during the second quarter of Friday night’s loss to Geelong.
