MATT WHITE is set to miss at least a month of football having suffered a tear to his left hamstring against Geelong last Friday.

Scans revealed the damage to the hamstring was between a grade two and three tear, and he's set to miss between four and six weeks in recovery.

At current projections, the earliest White would be available to return is against Collingwood in Round 15, depending on the success of his rehabilitation.

RED CROSS BLOOD SERVICE INJURY LIST

Port Adelaide is taking a 'zero risk' approach to White's recovery, particularly given his history with hamstring injuries.

According to Port Adelaide's head of high performance Darren Burgess, White wont' resume running no earlier than a fortnight from now.

“He won’t start back running for a couple of weeks just to let it heal and then we’ll just build up strength from there,” Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au.

“He’s had a bit of a history with hamstrings so we’ll be taking a particularly cautious approach with him.”

Earlier this week, Jackson Trengove was slated for assessment for a possible return against Carlton on Saturday.
