MICHAEL WILSON will Ride for a Reason in the Tour Down Under next week and wants Power supporters to get on board.

The triple Port Adelaide premiership player is supporting Cancer Council SA’s Ride for a Reason as part of the tour, along with the Power’s chaplain, Brandon Chaplin.

Wilson hasn’t lost his passion for fitness since retiring from the game, standing as one of Australia’s top-ranked amateur triathletes.

He is a regular participant in the Tour Down Under’s community rides, and recently competed in the gruelling Hawaii Ironman triathlon.

Wilson is calling on Power supporters to hop on the bike and ride for a reason with him during the Tour Down Under and together with Chaplin has organised a training ride ahead of the big event.

“Brandon and I regularly do these rides, and we thought it would be good to get a group of fit Port supporters together to do a training ride before the Bupa Challenge Tour,” Wilson told portadelaidefc.com.au.

“We keep a pretty good pace, but it would be great to have some Port supporters help raise money for the Cancer Council this year. There is no fundraising minimum and every cent helps!”

Wilson will hold his training ride early on the morning of Saturday 16 January.

The training ride is open to those who register for Ride for a Reason. Spots are limited, so interested cyclists should email Michael at mwilson@pafc.com.au
