TOM JONAS will appear before the tribunal on Tuesday night to answer for a striking charge that sidelined West Coast's Andrew Gaff last Saturday.

His teammate Robbie Gray has been cleared of a tripping charge in the fourth quarter.

Jonas's strike was adjudged as an intentional act, of high contact and severe impact.

That charge results in a direct referral to the AFL Tribunal.

A remorseful Jonas apologised to Gaff on Monday afternoon.

Fines were also issued to Hamish Hartlett for wrestling ($4000 for a third offence reduced to $2500 with an early plea) and Travis Boak ($2000 down to $1500 with an early plea).

Both players accepted those fines.
