Travis Boak

On the positives he took from the game
“It was a good day, and a good four-quarter performance… I thought the boys were really composed today and moved the ball really well and our small forwards in the conditions today really stood up.”

On the opposition
“We know Collingwood are a really good first quarter side, and they took it up to us early and we just had to hold strong. They had some challenges last week losing a few players and we thought, if we can keep running the game out, then we’d be in a good spot in the second half.”

On their season so far
“Obviously it’s been a bit of an up and down start, but I think the last couple of weeks we’re certainly stating to play the footy we really want to and that’s been a buy-in to some real team footy and everyone just playing their team role. That’s what’s going to win us games and that’s what’s got us a bit of momentum.”

Aaron Young

On the team performance
“It was just a good spread – everyone played well, everyone played their roles. I was really happy for Austin Logan in his first game, and all the young boys including Darcy and Dougs played well - they all played their roles.”

On his own five goals
“There were a few lucky ones where the boys gave it to me in the goal square, but I’m just happy to contribute to the team. Sometimes that doesn’t mean you’re kicking goals – Dicko played a really, really strong game and didn’t hit the scoreboard, but he created opportunities for the smalls and Neadey, Chaddy and myself got on the scoreboard as a result.”

On the group’s confidence after the win
“I think we’re really starting to build some momentum. Last week we were really solid against Melbourne and today we were solid, so it puts us in good stead for when we come up against the Bulldogs who are really strong and exciting side.”

Jarman Impey

 On Trengove’s ruck work
“Jacko’s had a bit of time in the ruck throughout his career. He puts his hand up and just gives it a red hot crack, which is exactly what we need for our midfield. We just get it to ground and beat their opponents, and just give great effort.”

On what they’ve improved on
“The last month we’ve been trying to work on getting everything together, playing our team roles and getting Port Adelaide football back, which is aggressive, fast and hard work. We slowly brought that back today and hopefully we can continue that, because that’s what we need.”

On team roles
“Over the pre-season we worked really hard on our team roles and our team structure, and we think that we break down when we don’t get that right. Last week we got those things done really well, and we played well, and got the win.”
