LIKE most athletes, AFL players are creatures of habit.

Along with regimented training schedules and personalised nutrition plans, many players have their own pre-game rituals which help them feel consistent and focussed on game day.

Veteran forward Jay Schulz follows a particular routine when it comes to getting dressed for a game;

Left sock, left boot, right sock, right boot.

Never both socks or right boot first.

Schulzy reckons he's done it for as long as he can remember.
