REPORTS from West Coast suggest Eagle ruck Nathan Vardy and midfielder Liam Duggan will be tested at Adelaide Oval before determining whether they'll place on Saturday afternoon.

A hyperextended elbow for Vardy against Fremantle last week and a knock to the thigh for Duggan will see them required to prove their fitness on Friday, even if selected in the West Coast line-up tonight.

While the Eagles reported the pair training during the main session on Wednesday, three emergencies will fly to Adelaide as back-up.

They include Fraser McInnes, who was elevated off the West Coast rookie list on Thursday.

“We’ll take him [McInnes] over to Adelaide,” Simpson said.

“We will give Vardy every chance to play, but it’s more about can he handle the pain, Vardy, rather than the injury. Along with Duggan, we will take him over and test him late.

“Just with the travel we will give them to the last minute, some of these guys, and we will do that with both of those guys. We will take all three emergencies over. We will have a few tests tomorrow and see if they are available.”

Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley confirmed on Tuesday that skipper Travis Boak would return to the team line-up.

Selection takes place on portadelaidefc.com.au at 5.50pm ACST on Thursday night.

The Power host the Eagles at Adelaide Oval on Saturday 6 March at 4.05pm.
