BERNIE VINCE has been scratched from Saturday's clash between his Melbourne Demons and Port Adelaide.

It's a massive win for the Power, with Vince among the Dees' best players.

It was a nasty MRP rap sheet for Vince, who accepted a two-match sanction for striking Adelaide's Eddie Betts at the start of last week's game in Darwin, and then was given a $1000 with an early plea for a front-on bump against the Crows' Richard Douglas.

Port Adelaide will still have Jackson Trengove against Melbourne, after the remade forward accepted a reduced financial sanction for a strike against Scott Thompson last Saturday.

However, junior teammate Dougal Howard will miss Port Adelaide's SANFL clash against Glenelg after accepting a one-game suspension for striking in last Saturday's loss to Central District.
