PORT ADELAIDE'S Sunday night clash against Collingwood will herald the homecoming of one of its cult heroes, when Scott Hodges puts boot-to-ball on the ceremonial first goal of the game.

Hodges - the 1990 Magarey Medallist, an eight-time SANFL premiership player and the record-holder for the state league's goals-in-a-season milestone (153) - will be the guest of honour on a night where the 1992 premiership team is saluted by the club.

That premiership took place 25 years ago, and marked the resurgent campaign by Port Adelaide to enter the AFL.

The first goal of the game will take place at 3.50pm, ahead of the first bounce at 4.10pm ACST.
