Tom Jonas – Pick 16 Rookie Draft in 2011

Tom Jonas was drafted from the SANFL, where he played with Norwood. After strong performances with the Redlegs, Jonas was elevated from the rookie list late in his first season at the Power.

Jonas went on to debut against Hawthorn in Round 21, 2011, playing a defensive role on Hawks legend Luke Hodge.

In 2017, the Port Adelaide defender notched his 100th AFL game. He finished third in the Best & Fairest, and ended the year fifth in the AFL for one-percenters.

The 26-year-old won Port’s Coaches Award in 2012 – in just his second season of senior football – and his strong leadership skills have seen him included in the Power’s leadership group for a number of years.

An example of the team-first, defensive mindset Tom Jonas has brought to Port Adelaide throughout his AFL career.
