PORT ADELAIDE has extended its principal partnership agreement with Adelaide-based company Pernix to help the club gain even better insight into its football and athletic programs through rigorous data science.

Pernix is an industry-leader in data sourcing, capture, analysis and interpretation.

The partnership was first formed in 2017, with the extension to carry it forward for a further two years.

Pernix has allowed Port Adelaide to develop a state-of-the-art information architecture to improve the way the club handles its high performance and football data.

This data has been crucial in assisting with draft and trade strategy, as well as on game-day, with Pernix also assisting the club to better understand its members and fans, for better engagement.

Port Adelaide’s Head of Commercial Richard Kelly says Pernix is assisting the club to become one of the most innovative organisations in Australian sport.

“Port Adelaide prides itself on being an innovator and a challenger and that means taking action both on and off the field,” he said.

“Our football department has been reaping the rewards of the extra insights into the game, our players and our programs through the partnership with Pernix.

“The development of new and improved data management systems for our football department leaves us excited about how Pernix might be able to help us get even better at what we do.”
