SCANS have confirmed Port Adelaide ruckman Paddy Ryder’s hip flexor injury, ruling him out of Sunday’s clash against Greater Western Sydney.

Ryder sat out the second half of last weekend’s loss to Fremantle after experiencing discomfort.

He underwent scans on Monday with the results today confirming a hip flexor muscle strain.

The 30-year-old will miss the meeting with the Giants this week but will be assessed heading into the Round 19 game against the Western Bulldogs.

In other injury news, forward Todd Marshall is out of a moon boot and no longer requiring crutches after suffering an ankle sprain while playing for the Magpies in the SANFL on Sunday.

Scans have revealed no major structural damage to his ankle and his fitness to play will be monitored throughout the week.
