PORT ADELAIDE defender Dougal Howard will be assessed for a potential return from injury in Saturday afternoon’s Showdown against Adelaide.

Howard sat out the win over the Western Bulldogs after breaking his hand against Greater Western Sydney in Round 18.

Midfielder Karl Amon remains sidelined with a knee injury while forward Todd Marshall is continuing his rehabilitation from an ankle injury suffered playing in the SANFL at Kadina a fortnight ago.

Defender Jimmy Toumpas will be assessed after suffering a sprained wrist in a fall during the third quarter of Port Adelaide’s SANFL game against South Adelaide on Saturday.

Rookie defender Emmanuel Irra will undergo scans after hyperextending his right knee in the last quarter of the same match.
