JARED POLEC has received a Coates Hire Goal of the Year nomination for his brilliant solo effort against Collingwood on Saturday at the MCG.

Polec received a handball from Aidyn Johnson in the centre square, evading two would-be tacklers before side-stepping a third defender to slot an eye-catching goal.

The 25-year-old also had 21 disposals against the Magpies, to be one of Port’s more influential players.

This is the second goal of the year nomination for the former Lion after he won the Round 13 vote for a pin-point finish from the boundary against the Western Bulldogs.
