IF you are heading to Shanghai for Saturday’s game between Port Adelaide and Gold Coast, you’ll notice the food and drink options are a significant improvement on last year.

With five food and drink outlets at the stadium this year, it will also be much easier to access a delicious snack or a refreshing beverage.

Port Adelaide received feedback that it was hard to move around the Adelaide Arena at Jiangwan Stadium last year and as such a new set up means patrons will be able to move around freely to access areas other than where their ticket allows.

The club has worked hard with the caterer to ensure there are western style foods available among a wide selection of offerings.

We know it wouldn’t be a footy game if you couldn’t eat a traditional meat pie!

The pies at Saturday’s game are being prepared by Aussie expats who live in Shanghai, from the Camel pub no less, so they know how to make a great meat pie.

But if that doesn’t tickle your fancy, have a crack at a Texas hot dog or some nuggets and chips.

Prices range from $6.00AUD/30¥ for hot chips up to $13.00/65¥ for a range of other hot foods, but there are also cheaper options for muffins, chips, ice cream and nuts.

Plus you won’t pay more than $3.00/15¥ for a soft drink, juice or bottle of water.

Port Adelaide has worked hard to ensure prices are reasonable but despite common perceptions, things are not always cheaper in China.

The Adelaide Arena at Jiangwan Stadium had no existing food or beverage outlets so there are higher costs associated with setting up the infrastructure.

We are sure you will enjoy your Shanghai experience, just remember no credit card payments will be accepted at the venue.

You will be able to pay via cash, Alipay or WeChat payment only.
